This Greatest Shared Screen Game You Have Probably Not Tried Is Coming to Nintendo Switch

Wizard of Legend 2, an roguelike quest featuring spellcasters aiming to become legends, is coming to the Switch later this month. Gamers can get playable November 25, providing devotees of shared-screen games another opportunity to discover one among the year's top-tier entries in its class.

A Rocky Start

Wizard of Legend II has followed the roadmap of several under-the-radar games. The development team made it available in beta testing in October 2024 on Windows PC, before releasing it completely, alongside PS5 and Xbox editions, in the summer of 2025. Upon release, it was widely panned. Just under 30% of its audience ratings were positive. The Steam reviews were "divided", based on almost a couple thousand reviews, with many gamers critiquing the unrefined state and litany of bugs initially. Console players also lambasted that the cooperative mode, a key feature for the title, largely didn't work.

Ongoing Improvements

But like several early access titles that release in rough states, Wizard of Legend 2 has been shaping up. In recent months, the creators have rolled out a series of patches aimed to fix these issues. Since experiencing Wizard of Legend II to a greater extent than every other recent title this year, I can confidently say its functionality has improved relative to initially (for Xbox, if nothing else). It has reached the point where the vast majority of attempts, players can reliably initiate a cooperative run to work. Pretty good!

If It Works, This Game Works

Furthermore if Wizard of Legend II operates, it works. From an isometric perspective, you battle through magic-oriented dungeons by casting spells in action-oriented mechanics. A great deal of dashing, plenty of evading, lots of handling spell delays. This game is dizzyingly fast-paced and remarkably inventive; through blending your spells together with an ally's, you can devise some devastating combinations.

Switch Version Specifics

Although the Nintendo Switch edition hasn't been thoroughly evaluated, it's important to remember the very demanding approval process for Switch games. The development team stated via an announcement that the Nintendo release of The Wizard of Legend Sequel features all updates that have been released this year.
