Celebrated Actress Patricia Routledge, Famous for Keeping Up Appearances, Passes Away at the Age of 96
Star Dame Patricia Routledge, best known for embodying the character Hyacinth Bucket in the beloved TV sitcom the series Keeping Up Appearances, has left us at the age of 96, according to.
Additionally, she appeared in monologues by Alan Bennett and took on the role of the BBC's crime-solving retiree Hetty Wainthropp Investigates.

Decades of Performance
Dame Patricia was best known as the character Hyacinth Bucket - who insisted it be said "bouquet" - a humorous character who embodied the peak of English pretension and snobbery.
"She is a wonderfully awful character and I loved portraying her enormously," the star commented.
This classic sitcom ran from the early 1990s, and the following year she was chosen as the nation's most popular actress at the BBC's 60th anniversary awards.
Beyond television, she earned praise both live and recorded after beginning her professional life in the stage in the 1950s.
With performances in the West End, she built a reputation in the United States when she received the Tony for best lead actress in a musical on Broadway for Darling of the Day in 1968.
She was as adept at serious drama as she was at light entertainment - she appeared in Richard III and Henry V at the RSC, then earned an theater prize for best actress in a musical for Candide in the 1980s.
